!!!???Mascara???!!!
Personally i’m a big fan of a curved mascara wand for putting on my own mascara. (I use a
fan brush for clients). Ive been using my trust, reasonably priced Rimmel Volume Flash x10 Mascara for years and thought it was time for a change. I do try not to get too attached to a product as I think I lose touch of whast is new on the market. So, I spent an hour on Sunday looking for an alternative curved wand mascara.
I was a little disappointed by my findings! One of the only other few alternatives was Bourjois Volume Glamour Ultra Curl. It was a few pounds more expensive but I thought it was worth a go!
If I’m totally honest, I’m slightly disappointed as it donest’t seem to really ‘brush’ the mascara through the lashes and therefore the coverage is a bit sparce and my eyelashes look a little thin. What I like about my Rimmel mascara is the bristles of the wand are further apart and therefore it really helps to get good coverage. The actual mascara also seems a little thicker too.
So….. to conclude…. there are so many mascaras on the market these days, all promising longer, thicker lashes. However, I’m still of the opinion that they’re not all worth the money. My motto still stands ‘the art is in the application’. Spend time making sure you have covered EVERY lash with mascara, right from the centre of your eye, all the way to the outer corners and give them a few coats. This is what will open your eyes and make you look, and feel, more feminine. Failing that… get some eyelash extensions!
Black nails – really??? YES!YES!YES! I love it!
I think its a great look – I wouldn’t go for an actual black, but a nearly black looks great. Try deep blue, juicy plum (which is great against pasty skin), or delicious teal looks fantastic. Be warned - make sure you apply a base coat or you will risk staining your nails.
I like O.P.I.’s ‘unripened’.
Plaits, plaits and more plaits!
There are SO many looks you can create with plaits, here are a few…
Whether its a french plait, herring bone or fishtail or a twist. Messy or neat you can create a look to suit you.
The perfect look for a spring wedding.
Professional Beauty 2011 Exhibition – Excel London
On Sunday 27th February 2011 – after a long traffic jam – I arrived at the Professional Beauty Show. Wow – it was massive! It gave me a great chance to look around the new products and procedures being launched on the market in 2011.
Disappointingly there wasn’t much representation from the make-up industry. However, there were lots of eyelash extension stands which gave me an opportunity to look through the different glues, eye patches and lashes on offer.
I’m looking forward to the next show in May.
